So now that we’ve settled comfortably in this Translations Lounge, I’ll tell you a bit about me. By trade, I am a freelance translator, editor, proofreader, and transcriber. I was born in Ukraine, grew up in New York, and studied both Russian and English extensively. Therefore, you can say that I am fully bilingual. I have the eyes of a hawk, so I am sure to catch all your grammar and punctuation errors, as well as any number discrepancies, should you trust me with important financial or business documents. At the same time, I am a writer at heart (take a look at my “Poetry House” page) and hence, I enjoy artistic/creative translations most of all -- literature, poetry, and any other field, where language becomes more than just words. Although I especially thrive in Russian-English translations of literature, my professional and educational experience have also given me a firm grasp on other subject areas (see my specialties below).

My daily output is generally about 2000 words, though I can go as high as 3000 for rush jobs.
